Arrhythmias frequently accompany heart failure and left ventricular dysfunction. Tachycardias, atrial fibrillation, and premature ventricular contractions can induce a reversible form of dilated non-ischemic cardiomyopathy known as arrhythmia-induced cardiomyopathy. This session will review pathophysiology, diagnosis, management and prognosis of this clinical entity.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the consequences and management of frequent PVCs to prevent and/or treat heart failure.
Understand the consequences and management of tachycardia to prevent and/or treat heart failure.
Understand the consequences and management of atrial fibrillation to prevent and/or treat heart failure.
