Presentation Description / Summary: This lecture will briefly discuss the surgical management options for extrahepatic and intrahepatic congenital portosystemic shunts in dogs and cats. We will discuss the goals of surgery and the pros and cons of different treatment options. We will review the different outcome measures available and discuss how these relate to a successful outcome. We will discuss the significance of persistent shunting and how this can be managed.
