Presentation Description / Summary: Improvements in our ability to identify risk, make an early diagnosis and provide targeted therapies have changed the ballgame and turned prognostication on its head. This 2 part lecture series will examine how recent advancements can be translated into practice to better prevent and manage laminitis in horses. In this session we will examine practical and effective ways to identify risk for hyperinsulinemia-associated laminitis. Strategies we can employ in clinical practice to prevent laminitis will be discussed using case-based materials
