This session will define the different types of -omics—such as genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics—and review their current applications in veterinary medicine. We will demonstrate how -omics research has already contributed to the development of commercial nutritional solutions for disease management in animals. Finally, we’ll discuss future directions, highlighting how -omics will continue to shape veterinary care, with a focus on nutrition as truly applied biochemistry.
