Presentation Description / Summary: In specialty veterinary medicine, we work hard to build the knowledge and expertise to provide excellent, evidence based care. But sometimes, it feels like that's not enough to have the impact we want to have. Whether it's getting promoted, becoming established as a go-to expert in your practice, or representing yourself in the broader profession, your personal brand matters. And that can feel icky or unauthentic. The purpose of this session is to introduce the P.I.E. Personal Brand framework. We'll talk about performance, image and exposure and how you can build those components of your personal brand while minimizing the "ick" factor. We'll talk about how to use LinkedIn as a professional and personal brand tool. And we'll talk about how to accelerate your non-clinical learning in our complex world.
Learning Objectives:
Understand how brands differentiate themselves in the marketplace in an authentic way
Understand the three key components of creating a person brand - Performance, Image and Exposure (PIE)
Assess their own personal brand on all of the PIE dimensions to determine where they want to focus
Understand how tools like LinkedIn can support an authentic personal brand
