Presentation Description / Summary: This panel discussion will be a case-based presentation reviewing management of equids with acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD). Specific take home messages will be provided about both AKI and CKD that would allow implementation at both specialty and primary care facilities.

  • Describe natural and iatrogenic causes of AKI in equids.
  • Describe diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to AKI in equids.
  • Describe appropriate management cases of equine AKI providing owners with an accurate prognosis.
