Complex veterinary patients rarely fit neatly into a single specialty. This panel discussoin brings together Veterinary Technician Specialists in Small Animal Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, and Cardiology to collaboratively review a challenging multisystem case. Through guided discussion and real-world scenarios, presenters will highlight how each specialty technician evaluates overlapping clinical signs, prioritizes diagnostics, and contributes critical insights to patient stabilization and case progression.
Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of technician-driven clinical reasoning, effective inter-service communication, and the role of the VTS in coordinating care across specialties. Emphasis will be placed on identifying specialty-specific red flags, sequencing diagnostics safely, and advocating for patient needs in complex cases. This session is designed for advanced technicians and VTS candidates seeking to strengthen their multispecialty collaboration skills and elevate their impact on clinical decision-making.
