The CBC can tell you so much more than you think. In this fast-paced, case-driven session, we’ll dig into how to unlock the full diagnostic potential of the CBC by pairing numerical data with the rich stories hidden in cytograms and blood films. This session will help you and your team react and respond to critically ill patients and detect subtle and significant changes in small animal internal medicine and oncology cases that will assist in rapidly designing appropriate treatment plans. Through case examples, you’ll see how small shifts in data and interpretation can dramatically sharpen the diagnostic focus. Turn everyday CBCs into clearer answers, smarter next steps, more informed pet-owner conversations, and the opportunity for improved medical outcomes.
Learning Objectives:
Apply CBC interpretation to real-time patient management, supporting triage decisions, treatment timing, hospitalization needs, and client communication.
Understand hematology analyzer technology that produces important cytograms that are essential to proper CBC interpretation.
Recognize sometimes subtle but clinically significant CBC and cytogram patterns to better identify and trend early recovery or disease progression/complications seen commonly in SAIM and oncology cases.
