Dr. Kaplan is a Professor and the Senior Associate Dean at St. George’s University (SGU) School of Veterinary Medicine. He received his DVM from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and worked in a mixed-species practice before earning a PhD in Veterinary Parasitology at the University of Florida. Prior to joining SGU, he spent 23 years as a Professor at the University of Georgia, where his research program focused on drug resistance in nematode parasites. Professor Kaplan is board certified by the ACVM and EVPC, and he is recipient of the Pfizer Award for Research Excellence and the American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists - Boehringer Ingelheim Distinguished Veterinary Parasitologist Award.
