Dr. Laura Black is a Partner and Co-Laboratory Director of SpecialtyVETPATH, a pathologist-owned diagnostic laboratory in Seattle, Washington. She comes with a background of 7 years of small animal general practice experience prior to pursuing a career in pathology. After completing a clinical pathology residency at the University of Florida, she joined SVP as an associate pathologist, where she has been working with the benchtop techniques and interpretation of chromogenic immunochemistry (both IHC and ICC) since 2016. Working with Dr. Jennifer Ward, she has helped expand SVP’s immunostaining program, including transitioning from a manual to automated platform, and developing various training modalities aimed at training other pathologists, residents, technicians, and researchers in immunochemistry.
