Emily Coffey attended veterinary school at North Carolina State University, and she completed her small animal internal medicine residency and PhD at the University of Minnesota. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her research focuses on understanding the role of the microbiome in health and disease. She has a particular interest in the urinary microbiome and the effects of host microbial communities and biological metabolites on urinary stone formation.
