Dr. Meichner received her DVM degree from the Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich, Germany. Following a small animal rotating internship, she completed a residency in medical oncology (ECVIM). Her passion for cells lead her into a residency in clinical pathology (ACVP) at North Carolina State University. Dr. Meichner is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Pathology, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia and Director of the Clinical Pathology and Clinical Flow Cytometry Laboratory. This year, she also serves as president of the ASVCP (American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology). Her diagnostic and research interests focus on hematopathology and she is a member of a core group working on the standardization of bone marrow evaluation.
