Dr. Elizabeth Lennon is an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Lennon’s laboratory studies intestinal mucosal immunology. Dr. Lennon earned her veterinary degree from North Carolina State University (NCSU), and then completed a rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania. She returned to NCSU where she completed a small animal internal medicine residency and achieved ACVIM board certification. Following her residency, she completed a PhD in comparative intestinal physiology and mucosal immunology from NCSU. Her research is focused on understanding inflammatory and immunoregulatory mechanisms in the intestine and their application to inflammatory and infectious intestinal diseases to benefit human, canine, and feline health.
