Dr. Alejandra Mondino, DVM, MSc, PhD, is a Neurology Resident at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her veterinary degree at Universidad de la República, the only veterinary school in Uruguay, and will be the first graduate from UdelaR to become a board-certified neurology specialist. She completed a master’s and PhD in Neuroscience with a focus on sleep and anesthesia, and postdoctoral research on sleep, aging, and cognition in dogs. Her current work centers on epilepsy, sleep disorders, and epilepsy. She is a recipient of multiple awards, including the 2025 Holliday Research Grant and the ACVIM Resident Research Award.
