Jena relocated from MI to TN on academic & cheerleading scholarships to study Vet technology at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU). She continued on to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, earning a BA in psychology and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in vet med. Jena has worked at the UTCVM for 19+ yrs & in 2019 became TN’s 1st (and remains the only) Verinary Technician Specialist in Cardiology. In 2025, she received LMU’s Randy Evans Vet Medical Technology Merit Award.
Leadership: President & Treasurer of the TN Vet Tech Association, UTCVM Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. She is currently serving as Member-at-Large for the AIMVT.
