Dr. Joshua Stern is a Professor of Cardiology and Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at North Carolina State University. He completed his DVM at the Ohio State University, PhD at Washington State University and his cardiology residency training at North Carolina State University. He leads the Stern Translational Cardiac Genetics Laboratory where his team investigates novel therapies for heart disease like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Together Dr Stern and his colleagues have published more than 145 studies. He was recently honored with the 2024 AVMF Career Achievement Award in Feline Medicine and currently serves as the president of the cardiology subspecialty of ACVIM.
