Dr. Stauthammer is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 2004 and completed a rotating internship and cardiology residency at the University of Minnesota in 2008. He is employed at the University of Minnesota as a Professor in comparative cardiology. His research interests include interventional cardiology, congenital heart disease and diagnostic modalities for early detection of heart disease. His clinical interests involve all aspects of heart disease within large, small and exotic animals with a heavy focus on catheter-based treatment modalities. Dr. Stauthammer was inducted into the University of Minnesota’s Academy of Excellence in Clinical Practice in 2021.
