Dr. Stephen Cole is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Director of the Clinical Infectious Disease Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (PennVet). Dr. Cole is board-certified in bacteriology, immunology (2018), and virology (2020) by the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists. His research centers on understanding and mitigating the transmission of antibiotic-resistant microbes between companion animals and humans, with a focus on advancing One Health approaches to infectious disease diagnosis and control.
