adj Prof Anthony Sasse is a human specialist physician and intensive care specialist, who as a Researcher based at RMIT University in Melbourne Australia, became interested in studying the utility of the neurostimulant tetanus toxin in mammalian therapeutics especially sleep apnoea, and was told by the owners of bulldogs with BOAS syndrome and sleep apnoea that their dogs had much improved daytime breathing after treatment, an unexpected and serendipitous finding.
