Catarina Barros, DVM

Catarina Barros graduated in 2018 from the University of Lisbon, Portugal. Following two equine rotating internships (Portugal and Belgium) and ambulatory practice, Dr Barros moved to the US in 2021 and completed her Internal Medicine Fellowship at the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. In 2023, she worked as an Internal Medicine Associate at the Fethard Equine Hospital (Ireland), before returning to the US for her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Georgia, where she is currently completing her final year.
Dr. Barros loves all aspects of equine medicine and particularly neonatal care. As she completes her residency, Dr. Barros will continue her veterinarian certification with the goal of establishing her professional career in Central Kentucky.
