Rebecca Abanto, MVZ (she/her/hers)

Dr. Rebecca Abanto is a Peruvian veterinarian and graduate of Universidad Científica del Sur. She developed an early interest in equine medicine and gained clinical experience by shadowing equine veterinarians during her veterinary training in Peru. In 2021, she relocated to California to complete an internship at Pioneer Equine Hospital. In 2022, she began a large animal rotating internship at Oklahoma State University and is currently continuing her training there as an ACVIM Internal Medicine resident, with anticipated completion in 2026. In her free time, Dr. Abanto enjoys staying active and spending quality time with her family and pets.
