Mireya Becero López, DVM, MSc, is a large animal veterinarian currently completing a Large Animal Internal Medicine residency at Tufts University. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Córdoba (Spain) in 2017, followed by a Master’s in Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. After completing an internship in Córdoba, she moved to the United States, where she pursued a specialty internship in large animal internal medicine prior to her residency at Tufts. Her interests include equine emergency and critical care and poor performance evaluation. Her research focuses on acute kidney injury in hospitalized horses and novel renal biomarkers for early detection. She is committed to academic medicine, teaching, and mentorship.
