Dr Eve Hanks is CEO and Founder of MI:RNA, with over 14 years’ experience as a veterinary surgeon. A recognised thought leader in microRNAs, she has studied, researched and published in this field for nine years, with a particular interest in host interactions in response to immune system challenges. An innovator and entrepreneur, she leveraged her clinical background to conceive, develop and implement MI:RNA’s pioneering technology. As a solo female founder, she built the company from the ground up after spinning out from Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC), and now leads a gender-balanced team, retaining responsibility for strategy, investment and fundraising, commercial rollout, networking and science education. In 2024 she received the RCVS Impact Award
