Dr. Maria Carla Polo earned her Veterinary Medicine degree from the Universidad Católica de Córdoba, Argentina, in 2012. She completed a Specialist graduate program with honors at the University Austral of Chile in 2019. In 2022, she undertook a Large Animal Internal Medicine Internship at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, followed by an Internal Medicine Fellowship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in 2024. Dr. Polo is currently pursuing a graduate program at the University of Kentucky, Maxwell H. Gluck Equine Research Center, where she conducts research in the herpesvirus laboratory under the mentorship of Dr. Lutz Goehring.
