Dr. Mahalingam-Dhingra completed veterinary school at Tufts University, where she worked as a technician in the Hospital for Large Animals and completed research on equine asthma, both of which sparked her initial interest in large animal internal medicine. She also completed a certificate in International Veterinary Medicine and had the opportunity to help provide veterinary care to working equids in Fes, Morocco in her final year at Tufts. After a rotating internship at the Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center, she returned to Tufts to complete an internal medicine residency. She is planning on completing a PhD after her internal medicine training, with a focus on the equine respiratory and gastrointestinal microbiome.
