Dr. Alejandra Mondino, DVM, MSc, PhD, is a Neurology Resident at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She obtained her veterinary degree from Universidad de la República (UdelaR), Uruguay’s only veterinary school, and will be the first graduate from this university to achieve board certification in veterinary neurology. She completed a Master’s degree and a PhD in Neuroscience, with a research focus on sleep and anesthesia, followed by postdoctoral training in sleep, aging, and cognition in dogs. Her current clinical and research interests focus on epilepsy and sleep disorders. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has received multiple honors, including the 2025 Holliday Research Grant and the ACVIM Resident Research Award.
