Dr. Constable has worked as an agricultural animal veterinarian in Australia and mixed animal practitioner in England and currently serves as Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois. He is board certified by the ACVIM in Internal Medicine and Nutrition (honorary). Dr. Constable has co-authored more than 270 peer-reviewed publications and is the senior author on the 11th edition of Veterinary Medicine, a textbook of the diseases of cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, and goats. Dr. Constable's main clinical and research interests include acid-base physiology, fluid and electrolyte therapy, shock, calf diarrhea, internal medicine, surgical conditions of the bovine abdomen, biostatistics, and the cardiovascular response to endurance training. .
