Leslie T. Cooper, M.D., is the Elizabeth C. Lane and M. Nadine Zimmerman Professor of Internal Medicine, a cardiologist and former chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Florida. Dr. Cooper's clinical interests and research focus on clinical and translational studies of myocarditis, rare and undiagnosed cardiomyopathies, and inflammatory cardiac and vascular diseases such as giant cell myocarditis, cardiac sarcoidosis, and eosinophilic myocarditis. He has published over 300 original peer-reviewed papers, reviews, editorials and books on myocarditis. He is fellow of the AHA, ACC and the Heart Failure Association of the ESC and serves as the medical director and former president of the Myocarditis Foundation.
