Valerie Garuccio, BS, CVT, VTS (ECC) is a veterinary technician specialist in Emergency and Critical Care with over two decades of experience in specialty and referral medicine. She holds an associate degree in veterinary technology from Manor College and a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from CSU-Global.
Valerie currently serves as the Learning and Development Manager at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, where she leads training and team development initiatives and creates curriculum for new training programs. She is also the founder of Sunnyval24, LLC, a veterinary education and consulting company delivering simulation-based training and workshops to elevate skills and confidence in veterinary teams.
A certified RECOVER instructor and passionate educator, Valerie has certified over 60 professionals in RECOVER and has presented nationally and internationally on topics including coagulopathies, CPR, advanced venous access, and medical math. She serves as the co-chair of the Legal & Governance Committee for the New Jersey Veterinary Technicians & Assistants (NJVTA), advocating for technician growth and recognition, and has redesigned AVA courses to improve learning outcomes and clinical confidence.
When she’s not teaching or training, you can find her at the Jersey Shore with her husband, their rescued dog Ada, and two conures, Art and Penny
