Dr Vivienne Duggan is an Associate Professor of Equine Internal Medicine at the Univeristy College Dublin School of Veterinary Medicine in Ireland where she is Head of the Equine Clinical Studies Section. She is a Past President of the representative body for veterinary practitioners in Ireland, Veterinary Ireland, and the regulatory body for veterinary practitioners in Ireland, the Veterinary Council of Ireland. Through these roles she strives to improve the health and welfare of animals in Ireland and has been involved in a number of initiatives to improve antimicrobial stewardship among veterinary practitioners and educators across academic, regulatory and private practice settings.
