Presentation Description / Summary: In this presentation I will discuss the the interaction beween immune mechanisms present in the bovine lung and respiratory pathogens with a focus on viral infection. Specific adaptive immunity responses to viral infection as well as following parenteral and intranasal vaccination in cattle.
Learning Objectives:
To understand the immune mechanisms that control the immune response in the bovine lung following viral infection and/or vaccination.
To identify predominant humoral and cell mediated immune pathways and responses in the bovine lung following viral infection and/or vaccination.
To understand appropriate vaccination strategies that result in protective immunity of the bovine lung against viral infection.
